Wood Acres Farm History...
...family owned and operated since the mid 1800's
.

It started out as a fruit and poultry farm and later our ancestors trained horses here that were used on horse drawn carriages on the island of Bermuda. In 1972, Ken Wood inherited the farm and with his expertise of working with horses his entire life, he began a horse and carriage service.

In 1986, his wife became a profound asset to the business. Together, with their three children they have transformed their 250 year old farmhouse, barns and grounds and
presently host Wedding Ceremonies, Receptions, Birthday's, Anniversaries, Holiday Parties and more.

Our wonderful selection of horse drawn carriages, wagons and unique horse drawn Trolley continue to be for hire for Weddings and special events throughout Connecticut. We would be happy to enhance your upcoming celebration!

Although we now offer elegant white carriages,
here is Ken in the 70's during one of his first Weddings.
